So, the date of the split has come and gone and it's my understanding that the "split", as it's come to be known, has been halted in favor of some discussion and feedback regarding some new ideas that have come up.

With this in mind, I'm creating this post so that anyone who wants to discuss this topic may do so. If you have any ideas that you'd like to put forward about how the split should occur, or not occur, then please share!

I have ideas of my own, but, I'll post them in a response to this post.

After some discussion with Epic, I've learned that it is possible to allow one-way warps. This means that with two star systems, let's call them A and B, we can allow someone to warp from A to B, but not from B to A.

With this in mind, I feel that the sectors should be set up so that the starter worlds are all PvE and connected together with one or two one-way warps into the larger non-starter PvE sectors. These should represent about 30-40% of the total sectors. Then, from the PvE sectors, there should be a number (5-Cool of one way connections into the remainder of the sectors which are PvP sectors.

So, if there's 100 sectors (just using an easy number), there would be 5 starter sectors, up to 40 PvE sectors, and about 55 PvP sectors.

Once someone moves from starter to PvE, they won't be able to get back, meaning that the Starter worlds might actually have the resources needed for someone to get a reasonable start and move on to the larger universe.

This also means that if someone wants to do a drive-by attack in the PvP areas, they won't then be able to go and hide in a PvE area to dodge the reprecussions of their actions.

Finally, this means that people can PvE to their heart's content and never have to move to the PvP area, or, PvPers can get a good start and then move themselves to the PvP areas once they're ready for it.

I do like this idea and will discuss it with the senior admins.

I still don't think that someone should be allowed to go from PvE to PvP. Just means that any joe can build up a massive army worry free then just move to a pvp area fully loaded. Then the true PvP'ers who have been living and playing in pvp, fighting over recources have to deal with someone who didn't earn the right to be there that just comes in and wipes people out.
