Wanting to build new pc need to know which would be better/price wise the new I9 x series or the I7 x series or the regular I7 series. Would like to see some build ideas. Price range of 5-6 thousand. Plan on 2 new 1080 TIs. Dont need headset, mouse, keyboard, monitors plan on reusing. Everything else brand new. so just the tower. Would like to talk on ts about everything as well.

Come find me in teamspeak im usually always around unless working or sleeping. Atm its a tossup of amd/intel they are neck and neck. What will you be using it for? gaming? streaming? If streaming id suggest ryzen or threadripper since you said u wanted a i9 extreme. amd has blown the multicore department up this year. im even switching to a ryzen 7 8 core 16 thread cpu.

now the i9 is 1100 whereas the threadripper which is a 16 core 32 thread btw is 1000.

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

if you notice its right under the i9 but the i9 is also just a 10 core 20 thread whereas the 16 core TR will go wayyy faster in multithreaded apllications. but if your just gaming and not really doing a lot of multithreaded stuff then id suggest i9.

Come find me in teamspeak if you need any further help. Hope this info helps.

That's a big budget...are you determine to spend all of it?

What kind of monitor situation are you going to be pushing?
